Scion tC – are you ready for the machine?
Toyota Motor Corporation has rolled out the 2011 Scion tC and the machine has undergone some redesigning.
The first modification done was to the engine. A 2.5 liter engine has replaced a 2.4 liter engine. The new engine provides 180 horsepower at 6000 and the torque per pound-feet provided by this engine 173 torque at 4100 rpm. This is better than what the engine in the previous model provided. The fuel economy of this new engine is better.
The transmissions that this model has are six-speed manual and six-speed sequential- shift automatic. These transmissions are replacing the five speed manual and four-speed automatic in the previous model respectively.
The ride height of the machine is lower than the previous models.
MacPherson struts are provided for the front suspensions and double wishbones for the back. Aluminum-alloy rims are provided for the wheels and each is eighteen inches in diameter. The machine has larger brakes.
As for the electronic power steering it has been improved. The steering wheel that has been provided is a three-spoke. The buttons found on the steering wheel helps one operate the audio system provided by Toyota while driving.
The machine has more room in the cockpit and is provided with new sport bucket seats. Toyota has done some redesigning as far as the instrument cluster is concerned.The machine has a panoramic moonroof. The audio system provided by Toyota has the capability of playing FM and AM radio channels as well as music stored in CDs and USB. The storage capacity of the audio system has also been increased.
This model comes with many safety features including Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Vehicle Stability Control, Anti-lock Brakes, and Traction Control. The number of air bags found in this model is eight.
