Acne Preventive Measures And Remedies
Are you over the age of 25 but you feel like you’re still in your adolescent period because of your acnes? If you are still suffering from pimples, blackheads, zits, and more, then puberty has nothing to do with it. Clearing out acnes isn’t simple. Before you want to extinguish them, you might want to keep them first from existing.
To start with, you should get a healthy lifestyle. Clear out the toxins from your body by eating non-fatty foods, avoiding alcoholic and caffeinated drinks, and drinking a lot of water. Also, try to adapt a regular workout schedule and avoid stress. Smoking also clogs our pores and adds toxins in our body, so that should be one of the list of things you should avoid doing. And of course, practice good hygiene.
Those preventive steps may help keep the acnes from adorning your face and body, but what if you already have them?
You can try topical creams and gels, but they only eliminate the problem briefly. Not that they’re useless, in fact, most acne dries out fast with over-the-counter products. Medicines that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid may be used in mild to moderate types of acne. You can also hear other people trusting natural remedies. Honey, oatmeal, ginger, and even ice are said to treat acnes.
However, if you have severe acne case, topical medicines are not enough.
Acnes should also be treated internally. As mentioned, topical products work for mild to moderate cases of acne, but they can’t eradicate the source of the problem. There are oral antibiotics that people can take to clear up their acne. However, those medicines, which may contain erythromycin or any of the tetracycline antibiotics, may have side effects that include discoloration of the teeth among others. So it is best to consult a dermatologist first before taking any oral medicines.
For women, acnes may be a recurring monthly case. Their menstrual period may affect their hormonal level, causing their glands’ oil secretion. For some, taking oral contraceptives aid in balancing their hormonal levels, thus helping clear out acnes.
Clearing out acnes has no exact answer. What works for others may not work for some. But whatever measure you choose, taking a healthy lifestyle won’t hurt.
